flytande vending

In the exhibition flytande vending [fluid turn] in Valestrand Kulturkyrkje, printmaker Åse Vikse (b. 1981, Sveio) explores the tension between the tangible and the fluid. Based on Ole Vangberg's architecture, Vikse examines how imprints - just like water - reflect their surroundings and whether this interpretation also encompasses the cultural church in Valestrand. By using wooden plates found in Sveio as matrices, the material itself becomes a witness to history, reunion and sense of place.

I utstillinga flytande vending i Valestrand kulturkyrkje utforskar grafikar Åse Vikse (f. 1981, Sveio) spenninga mellom det handfaste og det flytande. Med utgangspunkt i Ole Vangberg sin arkitektur, undersøkjer Vikse korleis grafikken - i likskap med vatnet - speglar sine omgjevnadar og om denne tolkinga også omfattar kulturkyrkja. Gjennom å nytta treemne funne i Sveio som trykkplater, vert sjølve materialet ein vitneberar for historie, gjensyn og stadkjensle.
