mapping Northumberland

– a larger series of artist’s maps exploring my local area – at the time North Tyneside – and the wider Northumberland. This art project was initiated by me as a new expatriate as a way of making this new landscape a little less unfamiliar and a little more my own. Two important factors – the wet element, and walking – are pervasive in this project and led to the approach that 'our roots are soaked in water' with a desire to explore the idea of maping water.
